During the design and development phase of SQS Micro Machining Services, SQS specialists help customers with finding the right solution to meet their expectations. SQS in collaboration with the customer can suggest the most suitable solution or help customers with design and development of complex parts and assemblies.

SQS 3D CAD modeling provides customers with effective design of complex components and their optimization in pre-production phase.

3D Modeling

3D Modeling SQS Vláknová optika SQS offers custom parts development based on the latest mechanical design software that makes it possible to create 2D drawings and 3D models including basic kinematic simulations, stress analysis and photorealistic rendering.Besides our own development using Solid Edge 3D CAD modeling software with Synchronous Technology, we are able to work with customer’s data from 2D drawings to 3D models either in standard neutral formats such as DXF, STEP, IGES, or in native formats Parasolid modeling kernel (x_t) or ACIS (SAT).

Fundamentals of design in Solid Edge form parts, which geometry can be derived from parametric 2D sketches. These parts can then be combined and bonded by various types of links in assemblies. On change of a dimension or a geometry parameter, whole 3D assembly is automatically regenerated and updated including its drawing documentation (elevations, sections, details, bills of materials).

CNC programming includes development and optimization of machining program for custom component production in view of maximal use of the CNC machine potential, input material characteristics, and production efficiency.

Small Batch Production

SQS Vláknová optikaSQS Micro Machining specialists are able to produce developed and designed components with sub-micron accuracy which is based on the latest CNC machines and high precision measurement systems technologies. The SQS Micro Machining production is placed in a cleanroom, fully filtered and air-conditioned, working environment that allows achieving very tight tolerances with sub-micron accuracy and very fine surface finish of manufactured components. SQS Micro Machining Services focus on production of small, very precise components and assemblies for applications in fiber optic, electronic, medical, aerospace, military, automotive, and oil and gas industries.

SQS Micro Machining offers customers design, development and production of parts with diameters from 0.5 mm to 23 mm from various material types, incl. brass, ARCAP alloy, aluminium alloys, stainless steel, Titanium, Kovar, Inconel, etc.

Manufactured parts may have e.g. complex shapes machined on both faces, milled surface, grooves, outer and inner threads, perpendicular and oblique holes drilled by high-speed spindles with speed up to 80 000 rpm.

Prototype Production

Already during prototyping SQS Micro Machining specialists focus on securing stable quality of subsequent serial production: the machine features, measurement methods determinations, and suitable packaging, etc.

Test and Measurement

Components that we manufacture, we are also capable to measure. Our laboratories are equipped with latest test and measurement technology.

  • O-inspectO-Inspect is a multisensory measurement system that uses optical and contact sensors. Sensing mechanical probe enables precision probing with forces in the millinewton range. Therefore high precision, true 3D measurements with form and position statements are possible.
  • SurfcomSurfcom is measurement equipment for components contour profile analysis and the surface roughness measurement.
  • X-RAYCompact and multifaceted solutions for 2D microfocus inspection. High-resolution inspection results.
  • SEMScanning Electron Microscope provides complex information for microstructure analysis, information on chemical structure and on many other features of tested components. SEM resolution of scanning is up to 3.0 nm.

All SQS test and measurement systems are located in cleanroom environment (Class 10000) to reach the highest measurement accuracy of machined parts.

Component Packaging and Dispatching

According to components sensitivity to possible damage during transportation and package manipulation, we choose the most suitable batch packaging or packaging in blisters (mostly recyclable) that we purchase from specialized manufacturers.

SQS Experience and Swiss-type Machining

SQS has a long term experience in design, development and production of components for fiber optic, optoelectronic, medical, oil and gas, automotive, and other industries. Complete solutions are often a combination of optical, electronic, and mechanical parts. Production of mechanical parts is based Swiss-type turning. Generally, Swiss-type turning is the kind of automatic CNC machining that allows complete part production in a single operation. The unique design of Swiss-type automatic CNC lathes makes it possible to manufacture small components with higher precision than conventional CNC machines. The Swiss-type CNC machines were designed for production of precise, very small watch parts.
