SQS developed and built PLC splitters for extreme applications. PLC splitters were tested for extreme temperatures and vibrations in standalone as well as within avionic grade modules.

SQS PLC splitters are characterized as uniform broadband power splitters featuring exceptional uniformity of insertion loss throughout all channels resulting in fact in practical wavelength independency over all transmission range from 1260 to 1650 nm.

HE PLCs passed temperature cycling test, which is shown below. The IL increase for temperature extremes (-70°C and 155°C) did not exceed 1 dB (= 0,008dB/°C). Typical value was around 0,5 dB (= 0,004dB/°C).

During vibration tests not only at room temperature (as per RTCA standard) but also at - 55°C and +85°C there was a minimum effect on IL fluctuation (less than 0,1dB over the course of the test).
